What are security lights? These are lights that you use to light up exterior areas or outdoors of your home. To put it in simple terms, these are lights that you install or mount outside your house.

When I say types of security lights ,I refer to the make or category of light fittings .For easy understanding,I will limit this discussion to
- Bulkheads or wall lights. These are lights that you install on walls.
- Pole mounted lights. You mount these fittings mostly in streets. Street pole mounted lights.
- Decorative outdoor lights. These are lights that you install in the walkways, gardens for the sole purposes of decorating your walkways and gardens.
What to consider when buying light fitting for your home.
All in all light fittings should be chosen because they meet the conditions of the room. Now that you know that light fittings are bought to perform a specific task in a room, You should take your time when selecting your light fittings.
Learn to ask a lot of questions. especially when you are shopping the light fittings for the kitchen and bathroom. For the bathroom, you should insist on getting light fittings that are waterproof and have IP protection higher than IP44. The latest advances in technology have enabled us to have light fittings that you can install above the shower. This is done that you still have enough light even when you are taking a shower.
Kitchen lights, you should buy fittings that do not easily accumulate dust. The reason is simple, the kitchen is a place where meals are prepared. Therefore extra care must be taken in choosing fitting for the kitchen. This is done to prevent food contamination due to dust or debris coming from light fittings.
